Re: CEL (MIL) P0171
inspect and clean throttle body. mine was really dirty after not touching it for 150k. not enough to throw a code but enough to stall occasionally after a period of rough idle. actually come to think of it, I'm pretty sure the PCV dump goes to the intake after the air filter somewhere so that would ...

Re: Brake upgrade lancer saloon gs4
We don't get the diesel lancer or the AWD NA models in Australia so we cant say for sure if it will be be a direct bolt on but...
A few members have upgraded their stock (single piston caliper) to the Ralliart twin piston caliper but only on the front wheels.
For us they are direct bolt on upgrade.

Re: 2011 Lancer wont start
check spark plugs...if your spark plugs are wet, dry them and wait for the fuel in the cylinder to evaporate, try starting once normally then start the car with the accelerator pedal to the floor. I found it is super easy to flood these engines when your battery is on its way out. as your not gettin...

Also factory paint is incredibly thin.

Re: Stop seat belt chime ????
Yellow plug and sheathed cable should be airbags throughout the entire vehicle. careful with this. airbags are expensive. The more practical solution would be to just google "seat belt alarm stopper". they are like 80 cents. and are quite popular. Especially in countries that seat belts ar...

Re: CVT whine
the CVT is a pulley system with ours being metal bands. the whine or mooing sound is quite normal. if you are concerned about the health of the CVT you may want to flush the fluids in the first instance. there is a great write up with pictures from Kal on here. I have flushed mine every 45k km inter...

Re: RA vs NA?
Get or stick with a car that you can afford to drive. that includes all maintenance and even unexpected failures. The NA lancer costs are minimal to maintain and virtually nothing if you do it your self. If you do go down the RA path try to get one that is recent model years. the SST transmission wa...

Re: starter motor failure
Mitsubishi do not keep spare parts on hand except for high volume service parts, gaskets, belts, filters, washers, brake pads, hoses, etc
wreckers are a good place to find replacement components like these.

Just look at the back of both clusters if the plug is in the same spot with identical pins and the unit itself fits the rough dimensions then it should plug and play.

Re: Not a nice start to the day!
RA parts are not cheap. full RA bonnet from mitsubishi after my crash was quoted $1700 that includes the discount for the actual NA bonnet which is $875 as insurance would only pay for NA bonnet. (it included all the vents, clips, paint, labor etc.) so at full retail would have costed over $2500 + p...

Re: General Insurance Question
just do it before the tow truck arrives and after the other party leaves. i think in most cases the onus is on you to inform your insurer that your vehicle needs a tow. unless your incapacitated in which case the police will move your vehicle. you technically have 24 hours to log a police report and...
