Re: A humming sound when moving off from stationary

It's extremely hard to diagnose a sound over a written forum,it may be something as simple as a noisey drive belt pulley.Best bet is to take it to a couple of good workshops and have them take a look and listen. Hi Lancerdarry, I also think it could be a belt or pulley as if its the transmission th...

Re: A humming sound when moving off from stationary

Might be time for a CVT service, there is filters, and o-rings to change, the valve body could probably need a clean, A mate in NZ reco'd his CVT/Auto tranny 6 years ago and still goes like new, you may not have to go that far, but a good flush won't hurt, as there is an oil cooler for those things...

A humming sound when moving off from stationary

Hi all, I have a Lancer Activ 2012 CVT 2ltr which has done 58,500 kms. Last year I got the CVT fluid changed at 48,000 kms as I the tranny used to whine when going uphill. It has been ok ever since. Now from last few weeks as the weather has started to warm up I have noticed that a humming sound com...

Re: CVT whine

I would assume all lancer's are fitted with a transmission cooler from Mitsubishi? So it depends, in case you bought a used lancer like in my case, i would not know how the previous owner would have driven and what would have been the driving style and conditions. In that case it is a safe option to...

Re: CVT whine

Hi All, Wanted to give an update on this, after starting this post regarding whine i heard. I would agree with kal777 response. It is the transmission fluid. I got my car booked in for getting the transmission checked at Rowell & Searle Auto Transmission in Adelaide. They are apparently the best...

Guessing that this will not be available except from mitsubishi dealer, are there any alternatives with the same spec i can go for? Also any idea how much...

CVT whine

Hi Guys, I have a 2012 lancer active with 51,000kms on it. Today was a quite a hot day in Adelaide (about 35 degrees). I had just joined the expressway and accelerated to 100km/h. When i accelerated the rpm reached till 3000 rpm and stayed there for sometime as there was bit of a climb in the expres...
